treasure
Al came and sat on my chest for an extended period of time last night. We nickname him The Lunk because he is rather large, but he was so cozy and warm, it was a pleasure to hold him for awhile...even if his head was in the way of my book.
I found the Teen Guide to Homemaking at our local Swap Shop last Friday. I was flipping through it in the store, and when I saw the page about crinolines, I had to get it. No one knows about crinolines anymore! It was published 50 years ago, and I am enjoying it immensely. And speaking of the Home Arts, I browsed a new book at the library yesterday, Amy Barickman's Vintage Notions. What another find! Lots of articles, patterns, and projects--mostly from the 1920s. I think I need to set up an old-fashioned sewing club...
Karl and Elise did have fun time skiing. The hill was very busy, she tried the hardest runs, but when she had a bad fall, they decided to come home. Albin and I had just finished making supper (au gratin potatoes with ham), when they walked in the door. The four of us spent the evening in our newly cozy living room, reading, watching H2O, playing computer games, working puzzles, etc.
