We learned how to make chainmaille from a homeschool graduate this afternoon.  (We also invited one of Albin's friends who likes weaponry, so he could learn this, too.)  Elise is modeling some of Alison's previous work with her sword and shield.  (Hauberks are heavy!)  There are lots of ways to hook all those...hundreds...or thousands...of handmade links together.  Egad.  We managed to finish a princess crown for Elise, and Albin did a really tricky join, the name of which I can't recall.  We'll make more jewelry for sure.  I'm not sure about the heavier chainmaille, at least for me.  It was hard on the wrists to cut the heavier links, and I don't want to ruin my hands for knitting.  I'll help Albin if he wants to continue, though.

Elise is now having a sleepover, and the rest of us are watching the Muppets together.   Menominah!
