Wait Wait - we went to Chicago!

Elise and I went to Chicago yesterday. Well, actually we drove down Wed night and stayed in a hotel...on the 37th floor. It had a great view! Here's the view out the window (note you can see our feet reflected in the glass).

Then we made it to the children's museum. Note to self: Chicago is BIG and if it's more than about a half mile to where you're going, you should consider something other than walking. Elise walked most of the mile and a half from where we cached our car (on Dearborn street, next to the theater) to the museum.

She had a good time making forts in the fort exhibit.

We played a game of chess. I think she posed in place of a pawn for this picture. She eventually beat me!

The reason we had gone to Chicago was to see Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, which is taped "live". (They redid a few bits which were too badly mispronounced to be listenable, but essentially the show unfolds just like it sounds on the radio. Peter and Carl have a script...the panelists have no script at all.) After the show they take questions from the audience, and you can shake their hands and they're more than happy to sign autographs.

Elise and I waited in line. Wait wait - that's us with Peter Sagal!

Last note - the interactive video system at the children's museum was FUN, as always.
